How can you make your mark as a startup founder here in the Philippines?
We’re taking our QLITANs out of the QBO HQ and around Makati!
Join us as we take a tour around the many co-working spaces that Makati has to offer. Starting September 19, we’ll be hosting a QLITAN session in different venues. Let’s get acquainted with new work environments and new people, all the while enjoying the same quality of our QLITAN sessions these coming few weeks.
QLITAN Around Makati will host Elaine and Leo De Velez, founders of Frontlearners, as they talk about their experience building their edutech startup. They share their passion for education through their inspiring story of growing their startup – now called as “the epitome of quality education” here in the country. Since their incorporation, the couple has been featured in sites such as Forbes and Bloomberg, and has given a talk for the Global Peace Foundation
About Leo and Elaine
Leo and Elaine de Velez are the founders of Frontlearners, an eTeaching content and solution provider that helps boost student competency and increase enrollment of K-12 schools. They have almost 20 years of experience in eLearning, and as scholars of Philippine Science High School and DOST scholars in their undergraduate years, they believe how quality education can change lives and open up opportunities. Until three years ago, both husband and wife worked as high-level managers for multinational companies such as Shell, Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson. Now they’re jointly running FrontLearners, and it is with the heart of educators and the mindset of social innovators that the duo has prepared themselves to trail blaze in the Philippine Education Technology arena.
Frontlearners is an eTeaching content and solution provider that helps boost student competency and increase enrollment of K-12 schools. Frontlearners believes that the use of technology in combination with proven pedagogy can make quality and affordable education accessible to many. FrontLearners has made it easy and sustainable for teachers to implement eTeaching through the BlendEd Box. It contains ready-to-use, DepEd K-12 curriculum aligned eLearning materials that can be used even without internet. The goal is to bring quality educational materials to students throughout the Philippines, including those in impoverished areas where schools don’t have the funds or infrastructure to invest in many resources.
